At home in its elegant rooms and suites and magnificent common areas, you will feel like a true Florentine aristocrat. Each floor of the Villa reflects a particular style, from Empress Eugénie and her passion for roses, to an oriental style, to the America of the 1950s. Created in harmony with the seasons, memorable gourmet meals are served in the Moorish room or at Le Bistrot. The Bellevue roof terrace is the perfect spot for enjoying impressive views and mesmerizing sunsets, while the heated pool is open all year round for relaxation.

November 26 - Monday - Florence
Happy Anniversary! Today is a Day of Leisure

After a long flight you will appreciate a day of leisure. You'll be given my guide of favorite restaurants, and places to stop for the best artisan gelato. The best way to know about gelato is that the bright colorful gelato piled up high in the windows is mass-produced and made for unknowing tourists. The best gelato is made on site using fresh ingredients and the flavor is superior to the mass-produced.  The colors are subdued and reflect the true color, such as the banana won't be bright yellow. Don't waste your money or calories on the touristy gelato.

My favorite area to wander is in the Oltrarno district and rarely seen by tourists. This is where the local restaurants and artisans are located. I'll give you some of my favorite shops and restaurants for this area. Of course, there is plenty of shopping, eating and incredible wine all over Florence.

For your anniversary dinner your hotel is creating a special romantic dinner for just the two of you.

November 27 - Tuesday - Florence
First Timers Tour of Florence

TIME: 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM

Your walking tour combines amusing anecdotes and interesting insights to offer an enjoyable and relaxed approach to the city. Your walk  begins with an unforgettable look around the gallery of the Academy with the statue of David the symbol of the Florentine Renaissance.  Then you'll hear about Michelangelo's masterpieces such as, the ”Prisoners” and the touching “Pietà”.  A walk to the Santa Maria del Fiore, better known as the Duomo.
The guided tour then continues with the Baptistery, one of the city's most ancient religious buildings; the beauty of its doors moved Michelangelo to call them “the Gates of Paradise”! Ghiberti, the artist who created the doors, spent much of his life casting the doors in bronze and then gilding them.

You will walk you through the beauty of the city, moving along the oldest medieval streets of the city centre, lined up with towers. You reach Piazza Signoria, the political heart of the city, with its ancient buildings and famous statues. The square hasn’t changed, since the Medici period, and there you will discover one of the most astonishing perspectives, the view of the Uffizi Gallery.  They will make reservations to skip the lines for you if you wish!

Includes: Tour and Entry to Academy Museum

November 28-  Wednesday - Florence
Horseback Riding in Tuscany
Riding Confirmation: Not yet Reserved
Private Driver Confirmation: Not yet Reserved

Today, you'll go to the Tuscan countryside near Volterre and San Gimignano about 1 hours drive from Florence. This is where you'll discover Tuscany in a most authentic way by riding horseback through some of its most spectacular scenery.  You'll have a gentle ride through the Natural Reserve "Foresta di Berignone",  with over 2000 hectares of land, crossing deep forests and wide valleys. There should be plenty of  local wildlife while riding your horse with an English saddle accompanied by your qualified English speaking equestrian trekking guide.

The horses are Hanoverian sport horses with excellent blood lines, trained in English riding with care and dedication, following a gentle approach in education.  They are suitable as  performance horses and also pleasure horses, offering you a gentle ride, gallop or run due to their natural abilities, temperament and character.

To make the tour even more special you will have a picnic lunch with a nice buffet of Tuscan specialties or enjoy a barbecue at the river (depending on the weather).

After your ride, you may choose to visit the town of Volterre or San Gimignano before returning back to Florence. Volterre is a lovely  medieval hilltop town built in the 4th century B.C. It  has the oldest Etruscan entrance gate that is still standing. It is also known for its alabaster carvings and quaint streets. San Gimignano is the more popular of the two towns but both are lovely. Another choice would be to stop at a local winery for a tasting.

Note: The horse ride and lunch must be paid for in cash (euros) on the day of the ride.

Quote Includes: Private transportation for 8 hours
Tour Company is to be paid in cash for horse ride and picnic by client
