Overlooking a quiet cove with views over the Aegean Sea and Delos Island, oozing understated elegance in a décor of uncluttered contemporary style and whitewashed walls. Located seaside, just a few minutes drive outside of Mykonos Town, Grace Mykonos treats its guests to an ideal setting, with focus on seaside lounging. It’s a true sea view hotel.

One of the best spots for enjoying the views is the main swimming pool and terrace, sporting comfortable sunbeds. The adjacent pool bar will set you up with a sundowner.  Dining is also poolside, the restaurant offering fresh Aegean seafood—though there is also a tavern on the beach, just a short descent from the hotel.

Mykonos beaches can be windy, but the Agios Stefanos beach just below Grace is secluded and quiet. It also has a traditional tavern, with adjacent candy-coloured beach lounger.

ROOMS: Rooms are light and airy but can be a bit on the small side. I wouldn't recommend the entry level room, I'm afraid it will be too tight.  All of its 31 rooms and suites of this intimate boutique hotel overlook sandy cove beach at Agios Stefanos. Twin beds are available - we just need to give them advance notice.

LOCATION: The hotel is only 15 minutes drive away from Mykonos International Airport and the Mykonos Town, is some 8 minutes by car;

COMPLIMENTARY SERVICES: The hotel offers shared ride shuttle service into town

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE: One-way shared transfers are charged 20 euros per room, and private transfers are charged 55 euros per room

FOOD AND DRINK:  As hotel breakfasts go, this is one of the best. The menu changes every day. One morning Greek yoghurt comes topped with local honey and sticky figs, the next day it may be mixed with raisins and toasted almonds; on another day, the eggs are scrambled with Greek cheese, while on another they might be poached and served alongside roasted vine tomatoes. There’s also always a ‘dessert’ option for people  with a sweet tooth – think loukoumades (Greek doughnuts) drizzled with chocolate sauce or French toast smothered in a coconut glaze. You’ve also got tea, coffee, fresh juices and smoothies, plus the option of a glass of champagne to start your day in style.

Dinner is also pretty special especially when watching the sunset with a cocktail before dinner.

The Ambassador combines the art de vivre of a Relais & Chateaux with the privilege of one family’s island roots, capturing not just the luxury lifestyle  that brings the world to Mykonos, but the very essence of the island. Explore the hotels curated selection of the highlights and special services that will grant you a privileged insight into the authentic soul of Mykonos. Follow in the footsteps of ancient culture with certified guides or learn about the land and simple pleasures from farmers who know the terrain of this island like the back of their hand. Set your internal clock to vacation mode with spa treatments and fitness programmes, indulge in a private wine tasting with our sommelier or a cooking class at the chef’s table. Gain a unique perspective by helicopter, relax into the pure luxury of a private yacht charter, explore Mykonos underwater or overland, meet our artists and artisans. This is the stuff of special memories and authentic emotions.

TOURS: This hotel is able to offer many different tour options including guided tours of Delos while you are here for two short days.
After a long sleep-in, a royal breakfast and a morning swim, embark on a journey in an air-conditioned luxury mini-bus in the company of a licensed tourist guide. Drive past famous and lesser known beaches, pause for great photo ops and take some of the inland tracks into parts of the island which most visitors never get to see.

However, what is it that the first visitors fell in love with, at first sight, when they set foot on Mykonos? Its whitewashed terraces tumbling into the sea of course! It may be a shopper’s paradise today, lined with world class dining and partying seductions, but there always was and still is a lot more to ‘Chora’, as it is known to the islanders. A guided tour on foot through the town will take you to all the famous locations, such as the windmills, Little Venice and Paraportiani Church among others. You will discover how this little town changed over centuries of rich history. You will gradually become more familiar with the labyrinth of windswept streets, discovering the baker, the mosaic-maker, the taverna that serves a workers’ lunch and the painter of icons. The impressions you gather along the way will make you want to return on your own, a bit more like a ‘nisiotis’ – Greek for islander – each time.

LOCATION: The Myconian Ambassador is situated just above Platis Gialos beach on the south coast of the island, renowned for its clear water and fine sands. The famous beaches of cosmopolitan Psarou, picturesque Paranga and Agia Anna are within easy walking distance. The idyllic calm of Platis Gialos bay belies its proximity to Chora – also known as Mykonos town – a mere five kilometres (three miles) from the Ambassador. The town holds fascinating historical and architectural interest and has a relaxed charm, with its boutiques parading local craft alongside international fashion, its clubs, bars and tavernas that spill out onto the picturesque maze of cobbled passages between whitewashed houses, and the little Byzantine churches that emit the glow of votive candles and the sweet scent of incense.

ACCOMMODATIONS:  Twin beds are available. The rooms and suites are designed for maximum space and comfort, with an open flow underpinned by the elegance of contemporary lines, bold proportions and natural textures. The cool touch of marble finds its counterpoint in the warmth of wooded detail. The private balconies and terraces command legendary views. After dark, a constellation of mood lights glows softly so as not to detract from the magic of the night. Luxury is in every detail: designer fittings, rainfall showers by Vola and Grohe, and the provision of an assortment of Korres and Molton Brown products amplify your bathroom experience; superfine linen, down duvets, a pillow menu, block-out shutters and discreet air-conditioning ensure restful sleep. Should you wish to connect to the world, you’ll find hi-speed internet, a home theatre with flat screen TV, satellite and a Bluetooth sound system. Room service complements a well-stocked minibar and Nespresso machine and housekeeping services throughout the day are discreet and efficient.

DINING: After starting the day with a leisurely breakfast at Latitudes, mornings drift effortlessly into perfect poolside afternoons and light meals and drinks from George’s Bar. As shadows lean towards evening, guests return from the beach to mingle over cocktails, before dining in the candle-lit glow of Efisia, one of the island’s top tables.

She might be well over a century old, but this neoclassical Grande Dame still captures the imagination of travelers coming to the Greek capital. Built in 1842, and found right at the heart of the Constitution Square, you’ll find no other hotel as closely linked to the city’s history,- and its present- as the Hotel Grande Bretagne. Be prepared for a succession of uniquely Greek experiences and a hotel with a sense of place. From the comfort of the Alexander’s Bar terrace, guests sip on cocktails while watching the changing of the guards unfold in Syntagma Square below. The GB Roof Garden restaurant terrace is  where al fresco dinners come with uninterrupted views of the Acropolis and Lycabettus Hill, while afternoon tea amid the floral displays of the Winter Garden is practically a rite of passage for the city’s well-to-do. For undiluted Old World opulence with the service to match, the Hotel Grande Bretagne still holds the crown.

LOCATION: Located right in the heart of Athens as well as within walking distance of exclusive shopping areas, museums and the business district, Hotel Grande Bretagne enjoys the ideal location in the city centre. Approximately 16 miles from Athens Airport (ATH), this eight story 19th-century building exudes wealth and refinement from the first impression while it has been repeatedly awarded by significant international communities. It is within easy walking distance to the Parthenon, the Ancient Agora, the Monastiraki Flea Market, the Lycabettus Hill, and the Original Olympic Stadium.
