Cancelation Policy:
Palazzo Del Vicere is owned by one of Strong Travel's high-end luxury service providers who owns IC Bellagio.  Whenever  a client wants a special experience Andrea Grisdale is who we contact for anything in Italy. She can arrange for fireworks over the Amalfi Coast or Lake Como, arrange for private dinners at personal residences and so much more. I'm sure the team at Palazzo Del Vice Re will take great care of you. The downside is that there are only 6 rooms and each will be different. I think this would be a good choice because of her connections and she knows what clients are looking for in a hotel.

Andrea Grisdale and local entrepreneur Alessandro Pertusini and his family had a vision – to create an elegant home away from home for everyone dreaming of living the life of a Lake Como local. So they set about painstakingly restoring the lakeside historic palace that had been in Alessandro’s family for years. The result is a unique boutique property with 6 separate living quarters for guests who like their old world charm with a side of 21st century creature comforts in the town of Lezzano. The palazzo offers unique luxury accommodation near Bellagio on Lake Como where serious old world charm meets 21st century creature comforts.

Renovations of this historic property were completed in 2013 under the motto “Made in Italy” - local artisans brought the palace’s historic features back to their former glory, a sought-after Northern Italian painter created original artwork, the finest in Italian textiles were used on the windows and beds, and each room boasts an eclectic mix of elegant antiques and modern bathrooms, kitchens and upholstery from Italy’s best vendors.

Staying at Palazzo del Vice Re means having the best of both worlds: enjoy a coveted lakefront location, but with the serenity of an off-the-beaten-track fishing village; indulge in their elegant historic palace, but with 21st-century creature comforts; and have the convenience of a self-catering apartment, but with a vast sweet and savory breakfast buffet and twice daily housekeeping service.  Guests from both the apartment and rooms are very welcome in Il Palazzo’s public rooms. Enjoy breakfast in the charming Sala Giunone before a Renaissance-era fresco and a 17th century fireplace, mingle with other guests under 400-year-old ceiling frescos in the bar’s daily aperitivo and take part in wine and craft food tastings under stone-clad vaulted ceilings in Bar Barbarossa. Or – better yet – ask to be served in our charming courtyard instead. There is no better place to enjoy the Lake Como views – a place dreams have been known to come true (not only for those who throw a coin into our antique wishing well!). And although Il Palazzo has no elevator, our porters are always available to help with your luggage.

LOCATION:  Lezzeno  stretches for 7 kilometers along the coastline and is the nearest village to Bellagio, on the western shore of the Como-side of Lake Como. It has fantastic lake views, overlooking Villa Balbianello and Isola Comacina, Varenna  and the Alps all at once. While Lezzeno is distinguished by local, simple and authentic venues, it is strategically located to reach Bellagio and other towns in minutes by car, ferry or water taxi.  Along the shores of Lake Como just minutes from beloved Bellagio, lies the picturesque fishing village of Lezzeno. And nestled among its colorful buildings, just behind the leafy square by the harbor, sits Il Palazzo del Vice Re, a lovingly restored aristocratic palace that has been transformed into a unique boutique property. For coffee, guests will enjoy mixing with the locals at Bar La Cope; you can enjoy a good aperitivo at Stappa Tappo in Sostra, near Hotel Aurora or for something a bit more stylish, the recently renovated Bar Tita next to the Ittiturismo restaurant near the end of town closest to Bellagio is a great choice. Lezzeno is off the beaten tourist path, giving guests a great feel for authentic Lake Como life.  Filario is proud of its authentic, original neighborhood where everyday simple life still thrives and locals are learning to appreciate the importance of tourism without forgetting their roots and origins.

ROOMS: Housed in a palace with a rich, centuries-old history, no two walls or ceilings are alike in the three apartments, one junior suite and one deluxe double room.   AMENITIES: The Palazzo team provides complimentary bottles of still and sparkling water every day as well as a complimentary minibar complete with select alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages throughout your stay. Nespresso machine, turn down service, robes and slippers, WIFI, in-room safe, daily house-keeping.

San Primo Room-  Approx. 310 euros/night -  Limited Mountain View - Located on the second floor and accessed by the Palazzo’s sweeping stone staircase, the  new deluxe double room San Primo has mountain views. The 240 square-foot room (22 square meters) comfortably sleeps two and offers a small seating area and a convenient desk. The soothing color palette evokes Lake Como’s natural beauty with light blue walls and olive green accents, while the contemporary furnishings are stylish and practical at the same time. Sheer white drapes before the large windows provide privacy and loads of natural light, revealing lovely Monte San Primo when pulled back. Guests in our deluxe double have every comfort they could ask for, from the high-comfort king bed to the flat-screen TV and from the spacious shower room to the tea-making facilities.

Il Fuoco - Deluxe Double Room - Approx.  324 euros/night - Limited View - The first-floor double room Il Fuoco takes its name from the sky-high burnt orange walls leading up to its charming timber ceiling, fashioned from local poplar trees. At 323 square feet (30 square meters), this room comfortably sleeps two, with handpicked antique furnishings and a large window with a limited view offering plentiful natural light. The room has its own spacious marble-clad shower room with a Jacuzzi shower.

Jr. Suite with Lake View  (La Vista)- Approx.  428 euros/night - Lake View - The Palazzo’s junior suite La Vista offers elegant accommodations spanning 657 square feet (61 square meters) on the piano nobile (first floor), with a range of stunning original features from the Palazzo’s first life as an aristocratic palace. This palatial lounge cum bedroom has antique furnishings, heavy drapes in luxury Italian fabric and fine oriental rugs. The high ceilings feature original frescoes that have been lovingly restored by artists from the Brera School in Milan. Thanks to the suite’s many windows, the room has ample natural light as well as enchanting views of the lakes and the snow- capped mountains beyond. The bright and spacious, well lit marble bathroom has modern fittings.

1 Bedroom Apt - (La Torre) - Approx 428 euros/night -  Lake View - The Palazzo’s second-floor apartment, La Torre, is spacious and inviting, with an open plan living, dining and kitchen area. This corner apartment covering almost 600 square feet (55 square meters) has lovely views across the tree-filled park to the harbor and the lake, with the snow-capped mountains rising in the distance. The double bedroom comfortably sleeps two people and includes a bright and spacious bathroom with a Jacuzzi shower.

3 Bedroom Apt/2 bathroom - (L' Onda) - Approx  585 euros/night -  Lake View - The Palazzo’s 1700+ square-foot (160-square-meter) loft apartment, L’Onda, takes its name from the waves guests can see lapping at the shores below. Located at the top of the sweeping staircase, the open plan kitchen and living area has a sloped ceiling and tasteful furnishings, with low set windows to enjoy the views from the Jacuzzi. Large enough for five adults, the Jacuzzi is the perfect spot to watch the sun go down over Lake Como and soothe your tired tourist legs. L’Onda’s zona notte is towards the back of the apartment, promising a quiet, restful sleep in the two double bedrooms (one with a skylight perfect for stargazing) and one single bedroom as well as two spacious shower rooms.

One of the advisors from my office stayed here this fall. She loved it and said the restaurant was the best meal of her 14 day trip. It is in a small fishing village and you can walk to the small town. There are 3 or 4 restaurants and a nice coffee shop in the small village. Bellagio is about 10 minutes away by car.

STYLE AND CHARACTER: A former wire factory, Filario’s stylishly minimalist interiors make for a welcome change from the lake’s classically styled hotels. Glass and stone feature heavily throughout, with large floor-to-ceiling windows providing plenty of light and making the most of the lake views. On the walls, black and white photos of silk threads are a reminder of Como’s long history of silk making. Once you step into the property from the lakefront road, you’ll find a small discreet reception and an intimate lounge area with large windows that immediately draw the eye outside to the lake views.

NOTE: The rooms at the hotel are fully booked - Private residences are available -the residences are a newly-built lake-side unit, at approximately 150 meters  from the main hotel building. Room service is not available at the private residences. There is a property map in the photo gallery.

SUGGESTED APARTMENT:
Penthouse Apartment - Lake View with Terrace - 1,484  sq. ft. and the terrace is  286 sq. ft. - A three bedroom apartment (138sqm / 1484sqft) on one floor at the top floor of the residence building.  Living room, fully equipped kitchen with a master bedroom (queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with shower). The second double bedroom has a queen-size bed, while the twin bedroom 2 single beds. In addition to the en-suite bathroom there is an additional toilet and second bathroom with shower. Room service from the Filo Restaurant is not available
Comment: I sent an email to the hotel asking for more details on the 2nd bedroom and bathroom.

Hotel Villa Flori is 4-star hotel situated between Como and Cernobbio in a converted 19th-century villa perched on the edge of Lake Como. The hotel was completely renovated in 2011 and maintains the original look of the exquisite stucco work and floral frescoes, complementing them with antique furnishings and beautiful gardens. The cobblestoned entryway leads into a beautiful lobby with colorful mosaic floors, vintage maroon and royal blue chairs and sofas and ornate light fittings.  The exteriors are home to a private garden with orange and lemon groves among beautifully landscaped gardens and a few figure statues along the stoned pathways. An elegant Old World charm is apparent throughout the hotel, from the old-fashioned portraits of prominent past guests to the large bookshelf in the hallway, detailed ceilings, and beautifully decorated restaurant and bar. The location right on the lake adds to the relaxing atmosphere and there are several spots (both indoor and outdoor) for guests to sit back and take in the views. The romantic scenery makes the hotel popular for couples.  A private dock allows access by water to both the hotel and the Ristorante Raimondi. We are also happy to offer our guests private boat excursions on the lake on request.

LOCATION: Centrally located between Como and Cernobbio, Hotel Villa Flori is a bit isolated for travelers looking to explore the area on foot. The Pulitzer Amsterdam is a luxury properrty exceptionally well located in the Canal Loop between two of Amsterdam's most iconic canals. Discover quintessential Dutch elegance in an intricate maze of 25 connecting Golden Age canal houses  and a labyrinth of inner gardens. The hotel's 225 guest rooms and suites are individually decorated with warmth and charm, plus amenties like minibars, and flat-screen TVs.   After a full renovation, which completed in August 2016, this hidden neighborhood now features: intimate guest rooms, tranquil inner gardens, a garden café, a hotel bar and a restaurant that serves simple yet beautifully crafted dishes. The Pulitzer is a unique blend of up-market, traditional and modern Dutch craftsmanship hidden amongst the city’s iconic canals.

It’s easy to spend your Dutch days wandering the many passages, relaxing in the pleasant garden courtyard or perusing the walls adorned with quirky pieces from the hotel’s impressive modern art collection. Yet just beyond its doors lie the Anne Frank House, the Royal Palace and other city must-sees.  Delightfully surprising dishes make Restaurant Jansz a foodie favorite.

Cruise Amsterdam’s canals in classic style aboard the hotel’s 1909 salon boat, decked out in mahogany, marble, leather and beveled glass.
The hotel has an endearing restaurant, a swanky Art Deco cocktail bar, a casual cafe, and indoor and outdoor dining spaces. There's also a modern gym, but no other wellness facilities. The hotel offers Les Clefs d’Or concierge service, 24-hour room service, kid-friendly amenities, and its own mahogany tour boat. The nearby W Amsterdam has hip, design-conscious luxury, plus a rooftop pool, though it's vague corporate veneer doesn't match Pulitzer's timeless, individual style.

ROOMS:
All 225 guest rooms, which were included in the hotel's 2016 renovations, are rumored to have been stayed in by the hotel's interior designer to insure decor was on point. The attention to detail shows. Rooms are as charming as common areas, individually decorated with unique touches like antique furnishings and architectural features that range from arched windows to wood floors or exposed wood-beam ceilings. A soft color palette is accented with muted shades of yellow and purple, and velvet upholstery, wood wardrobes, chrome and brass fixtures, bar carts, and old rotary phones are common features. Bathrooms can be quite spacious, with sleek subway tiling, marble sinks, and oval-shaped, heated mirrors.
All rooms have individual climate control, work desks outfitted with colored pencils, flat-screen LCD TVs, free Wi-Fi, coffee/tea service (with china tea cups), and minibars, plus extras like free cookies and bottled water and bike repair kits. Bathrooms feature robes, slippers, hairdryers, and Le Labo toiletries. Entry-level Cozy Rooms are indeed cozy at just 160 square feet — an upgrade to a Classic Room adds an extra 100 square feet. Generous Rooms, split-level Family Rooms, and Suites add extra space (some with more than 700 square feet), style, and a free breakfast. The Extraordinary Suites can be truly opulent with parquet floors, freestanding tubs, and elegant, themed decor. Many rooms are flooded with natural light, but not all have canal views — some overlook the hotel's garden. Noise is an occasional complaint, typically in rooms closer to street level.

LOCATION: Pulitzer Amsterdam sits right along the Prinsengracht canal, which forms part of the inner canal ring in Amsterdam's old city center, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's one of Amsterdam's most picturesque areas, and it's an extremely popular place for visitors to stay. It's full of shops, restaurants, and centuries'-old buildings. In just a couple minutes, guests can walk to the Anne Frank House, the Westermarkt tram station, and tons of restaurants and shops.
